Save & Serve with the OCA!
Join your Ontario Chiropractic Association and don’t pay your first-year fees; volunteer instead and gain valuable experience.
The Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) is introducing a new way for recent graduates to access its membership benefits. Starting in the 2019-2020 membership year, recent graduates in their first year as licensed chiropractors can volunteer with the OCA instead of paying for their membership.
The OCA volunteer initiatives are designed to help further the profession while providing you with valuable learning opportunities as a chiropractor and a member of your professional community.
Any chiropractor who graduated in 2018 or 2019 who receives their Ontario license during 2019 is eligible to participate and contribute 20 hours of your time between September 2019 and June 2020 to OCA initiatives.
You will enjoy the full benefits of membership. For a full list of benefits, visit the Membership Benefits page on the OCA website.
How It Works
When you register for your OCA membership, you’ll be asked to choose between a paid or volunteer membership. If you choose the volunteer membership, we’ll contact you within a month for you to select your top picks from a range of available volunteer opportunities.
You will be required to sign a standard volunteer agreement, including a code of conduct, to be followed during volunteering opportunities. Training, scheduling, and follow-up will be coordinated at an appropriate time for your chosen opportunity.
There’s no risk to you. You can switch between a paid or volunteer membership once during the 2019-2020 year. Any volunteer hours completed at the time of your change will be honoured and the amount charged for your paid membership will be adjusted accordingly.
