HCAI:

*Please note: Although HCAI is not an OCA initiative, the association is working hard to provide support to our members as they make the transition to HCAI.

Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI) is a new electronic claim filing system that is mandated by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO), an arms-length agency of the province’s Ministry of Finance, and put in place by the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC). IBC has now begun the rollout of HCAI, with mandatory enrolment of clinics taking place in scheduled phases, or tiers.

Presently, clinics in Tier 2 are being registered. Please consult the list of clinics to determine if your clinic is part of Tier 2 of the rollout. Click here for the list. If your clinic is not in Tier 2, you will be part of the Tier 3 rollout at a later date. Watch for upcoming OCA communications about the continuing system rollout for more information. If you have any questions about the HCAI rollout, contact the HCAI enrolment line, at 416-644-3110.

PMP Users:

Some PMP users have started using the PMP HCAI interface for electronic submission of OCF forms and claims to HCAI. The PMP HCAI module has been created with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. We think you will find it a viable and simple, time effective alternative to the HCAI Web portal.

PMP Users who are part of Tier 2 and have an effective date in June 2010 must download an update to use the PMP HCAI interface for electronic submission. Please email Lauren James at ljames@chiropractic.on.ca and provide the following information to gain access to the download:

Facility name
DC name(s)
Effective date

The OCA and the PMP team are committed to supporting our members to ensure a smooth transition to the new HCAI system.
